This Privacy Policy explains what information Programmer Corner ("we", "us") collects when you use programmer-corner.com and its tool subdomains (such as images.programmer-corner.com, scan.programmer-corner.com and monitor.programmer-corner.com, together "the Site"), how that information is used, and the choices you have. By using the Site you agree to this policy.

1. Our approach

Most tools on the Site can be used without an account, and we try to collect as little as possible. Where a task can run entirely in your browser, it does. We don't sell personal information.

2. Information we collect

Information collected automatically

Like almost every website, our servers and our hosting and security provider (Cloudflare) receive standard technical information when you load a page: your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, the page you requested, the referring page, and the date and time of the request. This information is used to deliver pages, keep the Site secure, prevent abuse and diagnose errors. Server logs are kept for a limited period and then deleted.

We use privacy-focused analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) to count visits and see which pages are used. It does not use cookies to track you across other websites.

Files, text and URLs you submit to a tool

• Files you convert or process (for example in the Image Converter) are used only to produce the result you asked for. Where processing happens on our server, files are held temporarily while the job runs and are then deleted. We don't keep copies, look at their content, or use them for any other purpose.
• Text you paste into developer tools (formatters, encoders, decoders and similar) is processed in your browser wherever possible. If a tool has to send it to our server, it is used only to return the result and is not stored.
• URLs you scan or audit (performance, front-end and SEO checks) are fetched by our server so the page can be analysed. The results are shown to you and are not published.

Please don't submit passwords, secret keys, or personal data about other people to any tool.

Information you give us directly

• Uptime Monitor accounts: if you create an account, we store the details needed to run the service: your login details (passwords are stored only in hashed form), the URLs you ask us to monitor, your check settings, the results of past checks, and the Telegram chat details needed to send you alerts.
• Tests: answers you give in the IQ Test and Developer Skill Tests are used to calculate your score. If you enter a name to appear on a certificate, it is used to create that certificate.
• Emails: if you contact us, we keep your message and email address so we can reply.

3. Advertising and cookies

To keep the tools free, the Site uses Google AdSense, an advertising service provided by Google LLC, to show ads.

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
• You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info.

Other cookies and browser storage

Apart from advertising, the Site uses a small number of cookies and browser storage entries that are needed for it to work, for example to keep you signed in to the Uptime Monitor, remember your language or accessibility settings, keep your progress in a test if you reload the page, and protect the Site from abuse (Cloudflare security cookies). You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but some features may then stop working.

4. How we use information

• To provide the tools and return the results you ask for.
• To run the Uptime Monitor and send you the alerts you set up.
• To keep the Site secure and prevent spam, abuse and automated overuse.
• To understand which tools are used so we can improve them.
• To reply to your messages.
• To show advertising that funds the Site, as described above.

5. Sharing

We don't sell or rent your personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us run the Site, such as our hosting provider, Cloudflare, Google (for advertising) and Telegram (only to deliver alerts you request), or when required by law.

6. Data retention

Files and inputs submitted to tools are deleted as soon as processing finishes. Server logs are kept for a limited time for security and troubleshooting. Uptime Monitor account data is kept while your account is active and deleted when you ask us to close the account. Emails are kept for as long as needed to handle your request.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict how it is used, and to withdraw consent. To make a request, email [email protected]. We'll respond within a reasonable time and in any case within the period required by law.

8. Children

The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

All pages are served over HTTPS, and we take reasonable technical measures to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

The Site may link to other websites. We're not responsible for their content or privacy practices, so please read their policies.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
